Trump later reimbursed Cohen with $35,000 checks, and Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to federal charges over the money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump\u2019s mood towards the hush money investigation has fluctuated in recent weeks \u2013 from criticizing the prospect of criminal charges, to growing impatient and insisting they should charge him already, and then going back to attacking the investigation with vehemence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the first rally of his 2024 campaign in Texas, Trump told an NBC News reporter he was not frustrated by the case\u00a0despite appearing quite frustrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m not frustrated by it. It\u2019s a fake investigation,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThis is fake news, and NBC is one of the worst.
