Magicians take sting out of Yellowjackets

Memphis, Tenn—-After Saturday afternoon’s 75-62 victory over Allen University, LOC head coach Bonzi Wells and the Magicians are off to a 5-1 start. 

The Magicians jumped out on Allen early, and saw their lead grow to as many as 16 points in the first half. The Magicians never trailed in the ball game and took a 37-28 lead into the half. 

Freshmen Sam Ibeh poured in 14 first half points off the bench,on his way to a career high 24 points. Ibeh also led team in rebounding with 7 rebounds. “Sam was really impressive today, he’s getting better and better each game”, said Magicians head coach Bonzi Wells. Ibeh is averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds, shooting %62 from the field over the course of the last 3 games. 

Outside of Ibeh’s 24 points, 6’1 guard Gjerard Wilson was the lone Magician in double figures with 18 points to go along with 5 rebounds. Wilson is the teams leading scorer at 14 points per game.

The Magicians return to action Monday November 28th, at home against Benedict College. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30pm
