Lady Magicians fail to close out Allen U.

MEMPHIS, TENN—LOC women’s basketball team found themselves in another barn burner Saturday afternoon at Bruce-Johnson Hall.

The Lady Magicians rallied from down 10 points at the half to take a 39-35 lead in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th, the two teams went back and fourth with 4 lead changes in the quarter. With 55 seconds in the ball game Allen would take the final lead of the game with two free-throws, increasing their lead to 48-46.

The Lady Magicians would turn the ball over twice in the final 50 seconds,  but would still have a chance to force the game in to overtime. With 5 seconds left senior guard Jess Myers would see a pull up three pointer fall short as time expired, giving Allen University a 50-47 victory.

Myers led the Lady Magicians in scoring with 12 points while reserve guard Madison Riley would pitch in with 11 points off the bench.

 With this loss the Lady Magicians are now 0-4 on the season and are still looking for the first win of their young season. 

The team will return to action Monday evening where they will host Benedict College. The game is scheduled for 5:30pm.
