Deon Ain’t Playing

by Don Mooney 12-10-2022

Memphis, TENN—Reports on many of the sports wires across the nation are tracking Deion Sanders like Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Unlike Santa’s fictional tracking Deion’s trek is real. After guiding HBCU Jackson State University to an undefeated season Coach Prime is moving on to tackle a floundering division 1 university Colorado where the Buffaloes expect a similar miracle.

Coach Prime held a team meeting with current Colorado team players. Like any new coach, that comes in to a losing program, housecleaning is a must. Coach Prime emphatically informed currently players to consider exploring options in the NCAA transfer portal. “I’m coming to restore, to replace and reenergize,” Sanders said in his speech. “Some of y’all are salvageable. I’m not going to lie, everybody that sit their butt in a seat ain’t gonna have a seat when we get back. But I’m coming. I started and we gonna go dominate and we’re going to work.”

In the wake of Coach Prime’s success at Jackson Sate his profile has always produced contrails of controversy. Fans at Jackson State aren’t too thrilled with his leaving. Some have went so far as to say he’s a sellout. Deion points to possible fiduciary improprieties that has led to his exit after 3-years.

Either way expect a bright, shining 2023 college football light to hoover extensively over the Colorado Buffaloes next season. A light that shines when and wherever Coach Prime takes stage.
