MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men’s basketball team took the floor at FedExForum for the first time Sunday, rolling over Lane College 106-49 in exhibition play.
Five Tigers scored double figures and Memphis shot 55.7 percent from the floor, connecting on 34-of-61 field goal attempts.

David Jones powered the offense with a game-high 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists in just 17 minutes. Fan-favorite Malcolm Dandridge dropped 14 points, six boards, three steals and two blocks in 16 minutes of action.
Jordan Brown also added 14 points and six rebounds, while going 6-of-6 at the free throw line. Freshman Ashton Hardaway drilled a team-high three long balls on his way to 13 points and five rebounds, while veteran Caleb Mills poured in 11 points.

Memphis got its first points from Jayden Hardaway on a bucket in the first minute and by the time the horn sounded for halftime, the Tigers were leading 54-18. Ten different players scored in the first 20 minutes, led by Mills’ nine and Nick Jourdain’s eight. The Tigers got 10 points each from Brown, Jones and Dandridge in the second half to lead the team to the exhibition win.

Memphis connected on 9-of-18 from three-point range and hit 29-of-39 at the charity stripe. The Tigers dished 24 assists and turned the ball over 13 times, while forcing the Dragons into 24 miscues on the defensive end. The Tigers scored 50 points in the paint and got 49 points from the bench.

Lane College was led by 11 points from Kyle Houston and 10 points from Floyd Williams. The Tigers will be back in action at 7 p.m. Thursday inside FedExForum for the final exhibition against LeMoyne-Owen College.
